Major-General Babagana Monguno (rtd.) – National Security Adviser he is from Borno State.

The president of the country Muhammed Buhari said that their appointment is on acting capacity but neverthless that their appointment will be confirmed by the national Assembly, from his spokesman Femi Adesina said that the president also appreciate the outgoing service chief for their services to their country.
